This indicator is a port of the Visualizing Displacement concept by tradeforopp. It helps newer traders visually identify when a market displacement has occurred — a key concept in momentum-based trading and smart money methodologies. The tool highlights areas where price makes an aggressive move away from recent value, signaling potential shifts in market structure or interest from larger participants.
How it marks a displacement
Candles that qualify are recoloured on the chart, so a displacement stands out against ordinary bars without adding lines or panels. Measurement runs open-to-close, and the sensitivity is configurable — so what counts as aggressive is yours to set rather than fixed.
